The PC has revolutionized the way we work today. The speed at which we do things has increased significantly and so has the ease with which we accomplish the tasks. However, most of us still don’t make full use of the PC as we are not just organized. We will provide you with some of the most basic tips on how to get organized and get the maximum out of the PC.
Organize Files
Today’s PCs can accommodate data that runs into hundreds of gigabytes. While that allows you more filing space it also makes organizing your files absolutely important. As data increases, without proper arrangement, it will become increasingly difficult for you to locate where you have kept your files. And that would mean unnecessary wastage of time. It is best to be organized from start. Create folders just as you have them in their office. So all correspondence goes to one folder while all the bills go in another. You can also have sub-folders for each of your clients or business contacts.
If you purchase a lot of digital products, you can even find software like Desktop Acquisition Manager useful that can help you in organizing your products (basically they can just files).
Organize Emails
Just as in the case of files, you should also organize your emails in separate folders. The best way would be to have separate folders for all the regular correspondents and may be one other folder for people with whom you rarely exchange mails. Also make sure that you delete all unnecessary emails or spasm. This will make your inbox less cramped. Even with Outlook Express, the method will be the same. Also make sure that in your Outlook Express there are not too many emails that are there in the inbox or the Sent Items folder or it may overshoot the maximum storage capacity of the Outlook Express.
Organize Browser
Although this is very simple to do, most people tend not to do so. There are two basic things you can do to your browser which will make things much easier for you. First of all set the website that you most visit as your homepage. Since we use search engines a lot of times it can be Google. You of course will do it according to your needs.
Then there are always those ten to twenty websites that we visit more often than all other websites put together. Having them all arranged systematically in the favorites folder will allow you to save considerable time on your web browsing.
These are very basic things, but if followed can make using the PC a much more rewarding experience.
