When you have a kitchen that is organized and tidy, it can make cooking fun and efficient. Many say that the kitchen is the heart of the home. When it is tidy, it can be very welcoming. It can also set the tone in the rest of the house. So, if you are looking for ways to go clutter free, here you will find a few helpful tips to do so.

If you have ever let a mess grow on top of your refrigerator, you probably know how this can make your entire kitchen look disheveled. So get rid of the mess that’s on top of your refrigerator! Give the cereal boxes a new home, stored neatly in a cabinet.

Get creative with the glass display in your kitchen. You can leave the shelves that are higher for decorative china arrangements. If space permits, use the entire panel as a showcase for your china. However, if your space is limited use the lower shelves for the glasses and plates you use on an everyday basis.

The space you have below the kitchen counter can be a great storage space for your pots and pans. Organize your pots and pans by shape and size. For instance, square cake pans can go with other square pans or containers. This will help save on space.

The same holds true for your circular kitchenware. Every cake pan that has the same shape can be grouped together. You can even maximize your space by placing smaller sized pans in bigger pans, and so on.

How you deal with kitchen counters are debatable and are left to personal taste and preference. Some people like to keep all of their appliances on the counter. Some people like to keep nothing on the counter. The best policy here is middle ground. What is the use of putting away a countertop microwave when you used it frequently? The same goes for any other appliance that you use regularly like a coffee machine.

If you find that you have a number of appliances that you use frequently, consider grouping them on the counter. The appliances that are used for breakfast can go together. Other dinner appliances can be group in another area. Remember to try and keep the appliances at a minimum on the counter. Your kitchen counter is often your work station and needs to be cleaned frequently. Too much of a clutter will just make this process harder.

Make sure you place your cooking utensils, pots and pans in correlation to where and how you cook. If you have a particular area that you prep your food in, keep your spices handy in that area. Keep cutting boards and knives in that area as well. If you know your cooking method, setting up your kitchen cabinets in a way to facilitate your cooking can make the process easier.
